Energy Storage

Process of storing energy for subsequent use.

Energy Identity Certificate

The document indicating energy consumption performance of buildings.

Doing the same work with less energy by reducing energy consumption.

Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST)

The main purpose and area of activity of EXIST is to ensure that the energy markets found in the market operating license are planned, established, developed and operated efficiently, transparently and reliably, and in a manner that will meet the needs of the energy market. It aims to become the operator of an energy market where the liquidity is in its highest thanks to the establishment of a reliable reference price without discrimination between equal parties, as well as the ever-increasing number of market participants, product diversity and trading volume, and which allows trading through market mergers.

Matching

In a proposal area or an area comprising certain proposal areas, it is the process of assessing all proposals submitted to the day-ahead market for the proposal areas in the relevant area.

Flexible Sales Proposal

It is a proposal which is offered for the next day by market participants who participate in the day-ahead balancing activities, which is not associated with a specific time and is for the sales of hourly active electrical energy.

EPDK

Energy Market Regulatory Authority.

Phase Shift

Movement of electric currents at different phases.

Price Area

It covers all proposal areas that have the same hourly marginal price for a reconciliation period within the scope of the balancing energy market.

Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuels are defined as energy sources like coal, oil, and natural gas that develop naturally over millions of years. They are commonly used in energy generation, but they produce greenhouse gas emissions that are detrimental to the environment.

Device used for converting frequencies.

A type of turbine that is driven by the combustion of gases.

Geothermal Energy

The process whereby energy is produced from the heat underground.

Real-Time Balancing

It refers to the activities carried out by the system operator to balance, in real time, the supply and demand for active electrical energy.
